Supuru de Sus - The Orthodox Church of “The Entrance of the Holy Virgin into the Chur

The church was built between 1784 and 1789. The old wooden church became too small, forcing the community to raise funds for the building of a new and “solid edifice”. The style of the building shows baroque influences, represented by the rhythmic line of the semicircular windows, and the façade provided with two gables, outlined on the upper side with a curved line. The apse and the tower were added only in 1911. The upper level of the tower has pillars on both sides of the windows, with an emphasized profile at the upper side. The top of the tower is shaped like a hexagonal pyramid, having the cross on top of it. (DB).
