Cărăşeu - The Orthodox Church of “Archangels St. Michael and Gabriel”

The church was built between 1895 and 1896. The tower is above the nave and it has a baroque steeple, with semicircular windows between pillars. On the main façade of the nave is a porch with triangular gable held by four massive columns, giving the church a classic aspect. The church used to be a wooden, but was burnt together with the entire village during the invasion of the Tatars, in 1717. The surviving pieces: a stone foot and a stone slab, are used for the foundation of the altar and the table of the altar. (DB).
